Merick and Mace

Name(s): Merick and Mace Pekatrov/ Nina and Guido/ Rosalind and Rosalind

Gender: Other

Age: Adult, but just barely...

Personality: If you wish to distinguish, they are Merick and Mace. But, for reference sake, and if you wish to be true to their nature, you can just refer to them as the twins, or Rosalind. As they are something of a joint, Siamese existence. They like to consider themselves the miraculous brown butt children of Borat and Bruno, which would make sense, if it were plausible. What probably ACTUALLY happened was that, in some other parallel universe, Eugene Hutz and Emilie Autumn morphed into one, and were then torn apart into two separate beings, Merick and Mace being the end result, complete with instrument wielding wonder, manic depression, an adorkablely thick Russian-Romany accent, and an obsessive adorations of rats.

Their birth names are Nina and Guido Pekatrov, those names given to them by their great aunt Keja, after a set of Gypsy twins murdered in the Holocaust (or the Porrajmos, as they would have you call it) by Dr. Mengele. Whether or not Merick and Mace are actually the reincarnated souls of those murdered twins, or if they are just a morbid metaphor, I suppose that decision rests with you. During their early-ish life, they were Nina and Guido, until Nina and Guido were beaten into death, drugged into non-existence, and electro-shocked into obliteration. Their life journey is akin to that of a battered animal, a dog who has been mercilessly kicked around for its entire life, until one day it suddenly turns around and just rips your fucking face off. Despite the fact that they are in no way violent creatures, and who, growing up, could never conceive of wishing ill harm upon anyone other than themselves, circumstances have often demanded of them otherwise.

They are incredibly moody, sometimes swinging from gregariously good spirits to suicidal nutcases in seconds, such was the unfortunate genetic bane of their caravan wandering ancestors. Regardless of their mood, their general deportment always evokes some suggestion of complete lunacy (they’ve been declared incurably mentally insane in three countries). But, despite everything, they remain kind-hearted tricksters , mischievous, but undeniably loving, and with little respect for personal boundaries. They do like to mess with people, but if you get to that point with them in which they consider you their friend, they are like golden retrievers, loyal to a fault. In reference to the violence tangent in the first paragraph, they may stand around and take all the shit in the world without ever lashing out, but would murder for another without blinking an eye. They really are stereotypical Sagittarians, as in they are loud, obnoxious, stage-whores who have no workable understanding of the concept ‘inconspicuous’. And they have an unshakeable belief in unicorns. And faeries. Don’t judge them.

Yes. They can read palms.

They can also read minds. Wear sunglasses.

Apperance: Depending on their attire, they more or less look like stereotypical Gypsies, as in Indians with Caucasian features. They are rather narrow and pointy, due to a childhood of malnutrition, and their faces tend to shift between varying degrees of gaunt, depending on whether or not they have opted to spend the remainder of their slim funds on hula hoops and false eyelashes instead of actually feeding themselves. Until they were about 13, they looked completely identical, and were often prone to pulling little switcheroos on their parents, teachers, and doctors; that is, until Mace got her little boobies and the jig was up, so Merick shaved off half his hair and Mace grew hers out and dyed half of it blue. They’re rather tall—around a little under 6ft depending on footwear alterations. I would probably peg Merick as being about 135lbs, and his scrawny twin as about 105lb. Yeah, strong gusts of wind exist to thwart her. They are beautiful in a completely strange, preternatural way—and they know it. But, if you really want to tick them off, you can make some comment about their glorious blue eyes. Being that these unnatural physical traits clearly landed in their gene pool from a rapist slave-owner back in the days in which the Gypsies had been enslaved en masse in Romania. Yeah, they can get like that sometimes. Just don’t mention them.

As far as clothing goes, they do sometimes don some of the trappings of a typical Gypsy that would make your Rom-radar unnecessary, as in the gold bling, hoop earrings, for Merick: weather beaten boots and baggy black pants with holes in unspeakable places, and for Mace: a plethora of flowy skirts that have been pretty much shredded and mucked up beyond the point of being considered socially acceptable. Not that they have the ability to care anymore. But for the most part, they dress like anyone else. Or wear nothing at all. They favor black, and other dark non-colors, but, as their paradoxical nature would have them, they are also like moths, drawn to frighteningly fluorescent, neon colors. This is probably because, like any Eastern European with a life, at any point in which they weren't locked up in orphanages or psych wards, they were off at some underground rave, giving some poor foreigner a glow stick lap-dance.

(drawings will come--once i figure out how to upload the damn pictures... )

Background: The were born, in the dead cold of a horrid Russian winter, probably just before the collapse of the Soviet Union. Their parents raised them on all that they could really give them, which was music. Their earliest memories are of wandering the streets of Moscow with their family, showing off their child prodigy virtuosi skills on just about every instrument they came into contact with. Yeah, from the very beginning, they had always been show ponies. And this they will proudly admit. Then they were taken away from their parents when they were about seven years old by authorities who deemed them unfit to raise the twins, and were sent to a Russian babyhouse, which became their image of hell for years to come. It was around this time that they began showing unmistakable signs of mental instability and behavioral dysfunctions, and it was generally understood by all that the twins were going to leave the orphanage and go straight to an asylum, where they would rot for the rest of their lives. But they were to become world-class violin prodigies, and so, by the opinion of a few, they managed to escape this condemnation. They went home. Their home was burnt down by nationalist thugs. They fled. They never became the world class musicians they were supposed to, instead they collapsed beneath all the forces, interior and exterior, that apparently exist to destroy them. And they end up in the very place they spent their entire lives trying to run away from, the same mental institution that housed and destroyed over nearly a dozen of their ancestors. They never really fought. They don’t know how to, thereby making the concept of revenge something rather intangible to them. Their revenge, which was clear to all those who loved them from the very beginning, particularly Keja, would be and always will be to survive.

Like the others, they wake up with little memory. They know who they are, but their past is vague and blurry. But they are, quite frankly, to a point that that doesn’t really bother them too much. All they want to do is find their (dead) pet rat, Papusza, whose unfortunate life was stomped out of her by an arch nemesis. They are hell-bent on finding her, and are giving little priority to anything else (including their own safety), since this is clearly some sort of alternate universe, she must obviously be wandering about somewhere…

Ace

Gender: Male

Age: old

Personality: Stoic and aloof is he, to an incredibly unnerving degree. Being mute, he has no use for the art of verbally shredding apart an opponent (though God only knows what he would say if he could..), preferring to cause his enemies to lose the will to live simply by staring at them.

In fact, he appears nearly completely devoid of all emotions, given that he rips the innards out of his assignments with the same level of casual with which he flips his pancakes. But, as the universe would have it, the only beings in all existence that he has any sort of emotional attachment to are the twins, which he greatly wishes he could undo, since the twins seem to exist to rape his zen. But, alas, he cannot.

Appearance: Very tall. Around 6’10. Never seen without his top hat—do NOT mess with the top hat. Prefers butler-esque suits and other formal wear. His eyes are narrow and sharp, and his iris’s a shocking yellow. And his hair has an odd blueish tint to it that fades into black at the tips.

Background : Not too much known about him. Though I have a feeling he was raised by British aristocrat imperialists and spent a good majority of his youth in Egypt….

He probably knows more than he should about the Pit and how he ended up in it. But, given a certain inability to care, if those who brought him here [i]are[/a] actually aware of his awareness, they certainly don't seem to be too alarmed by it.

Lemon

Name: Lemon (nee Anya Annenkenov)

Age: 22

Gender: Female

Personality: Volatile. Hot and cold. Her temper doesn't typically get the best of her, but when it does, shit goes down. However, a great deal of her personality has been modified and tweaked by the scientists, and a great deal of who she once was has been lost to serve her function as Stalker; thus, her amiability has been lost to give her more of a robotic, cyborg-esque demeanor. She has a dark, dry wit, and, compared to the other stalkers, she can seem somewhat crass and invasive. Surely, in a room with all those mutes, she's typically the one doing all the talking/shouting/bitching/furniture throwing.

As she is a new arrival, many of the stalkers are suspicious and weary of her company. She appears to be little more than an experiment in personality-manipulation by the scientists, and many suspect her purpose among the other stalkers to be that of a spy. And thus, her presence sometimes either annoys or just unnerves the others.

Apperance: She comes from the same gene-pool as the Rosalinds, originally, so she's obviously quite attractive, but has a fuller figure than the twins. Her eyes are a dark brown, and her hair is a raggedy, shoulder-length reddish cut. She isn't incredibly tall, either. Maybe 5'4. But she certainly holds her own amongst the other stalkers with the way she stomps around and stares daggers with her eyes. Though no 'parts' are clearly visible, it's obvious that she has had many mechanical implants and modification.

History: Lemon grew up in the ghettos of Eastern Europe with Merick and Mace, and stayed there even when they were able to escape to the States.

Classification: Stalker. She has certain Cyborg powers, like super-speed and strength. Sees in the dark. Can smash her face against a computer screen and download useful information, ect.
